Chiropractic Care
We specialize in correcting your body’s misalignments. Our goal is to ensure that your spine and the rest of your body are working harmoniously. To do so, we will help you develop a plan that will require light stretching, some exercise, chiropractic care, and a healthy diet.
Corrective Exercises
Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons; for example, to reduce stress and anxiety, to relax muscles, to rehabilitate injuries, to reduce pain and to promote overall health and wellness.
Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression is a non-invasive mechanical procedure performed within our office to help alleviate back pain. It involves gently stretching the spine to take pressure off the spinal discs (the cushions that separate the vertebrae in the spine). By relieving this pressure, bulging discs can retract back into place which takes pressure off the nerves in the spine. By decompressing the spine, it permits water, oxygen and other fluids to work their way back into the discs allowing them to heal naturally. Spinal decompression is an excellent option for anyone with chronic back pain who wants to get back to living a pain-free life as quickly as possible.
Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care
Upper cervical chiropractic adjustments focus on the top-most portion of the spine involving the atlas and axis vertebrae which support the skull. This portion is arguably the most mobile portion of the spine which can make the area prone to misalignment.
We understand that many people who hear about chiropractic care may have some concerns about the safety of the treatment, especially concerning their neck. However, upper cervical chiropractic treatment is very safe, gentle, and specific. Unlike traditional chiropractic treatment, there is no twisting, popping, or cracking.
During your initial consultation, we will perform a comprehensive examination which will involve a review of medical history and physical assessment. Imaging testing such as x-rays and MRI are necessary for determining whether and where upper cervical adjustment is needed.
Once confirmed that adjustment is necessary, we will work with you to customize your treatment plan. Your plan will be centered around the condition and state of your spine as well as your lifestyle. Most treatment plans typically involve weekly treatments for a few months depending on the condition of the patient.
Treatment methods will vary, but all our methods focus on maximum benefit with minimal effort. Many patients report over 50% improvement in their symptoms and condition within a few days of initial treatment. It is not uncommon for patients to experience some stiffness or muscle soreness for a few days, but these symptoms will subside.
